Patriotism and faith in God are embedded in my genetics, the communist regime took the life of my father, and before that my grandfather. Then they sent his three young daughters from the Lviv region, to the Gulag in Vorkuta and Magadan for 30 years of hard labor, all because they fought for their Ukrainian identity. My student years were spent in Kyiv, where I consciously decided to communicate only in the Ukrainian language, although I was a fluent Russian speaker also. After the collapse of the USSR, I graduated and worked as a young director of a light industrial apparel factory where I showed excellent organizational skills fighting corruption.I never gave up fighting against corruption, discrimination and violence.
During the collapse of the USSR I took part in all the revolutionary events, protests, Maidans, and actively supported the Independence and Sovereignty of Ukraine. My initial volunteer work began in 2014 in the city Mariupol, Donetsk region. During the Russian attack, after the annexation of Crimea, it became clear that this was going to be a genocidal war and we had no ability to surrender. I have visited 50 countries in the world and was a long term resident of countries in the Mid-east; the UAE, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Israel. I currently live in the USA.I was and still am a successful owner of a tourism and travel business. Life changed dramatically after the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The war shattered the peaceful life of my daughter and granddaughter, who are constantly in a state of war in Kyiv; they are true heroes and patriots of their homeland refusing to leave. Being in the USA at that time, the first thing I did was call on everyone I know to organize and ask for help from the US government to quickly stop the war. Activism and volunteering have been going on for over four years now. During this time, all efforts and finances were directed to helping family, friends, soldiers and acquaintances; I even volunteered to help Ukrainian refugees who came to the USA without anything. All this experience turned into a more robust volunteer activity with the creation of my own non-profit organization. Our goal is to rebuild schools, clinics as well as providing other financial and humanitarian assistance to those whose lives have been devastated by the war.
